Setting up
Your card, working, in about two minutes.
Lost the little card that came in the box? Everything it said is here. You only do this once.
Tap the card on your phone
Hold the card flat against the back of your phone, near the top. A notification slides down — tap it. Nothing to install, and it works on any iPhone from the 7 onwards and on virtually every Android.
Enter the last six characters
The back of the card is printed with one string, like K3M9XQ7P-7TQHFX. Type only the six characters after the dash. The sleeve hides them until you open it. They prove the card is yours rather than anyone who happens to pick it up, and they only work once.
Create your account
Email and a password. If you bought several cards, you only do this once — every card after the first takes about fifteen seconds.
Find your business on Google
Start typing your business name and pick yourself from the list. We use this to work out where your review page lives, so your customers land in the right place with the star box already open.
Put the card where people are
By the till, on the receipt tray, at the table, in the bay. Somewhere a person waits with their phone already in their hand. That is the whole job.
Things people ask at this point
Do I have to subscribe to use the card?
No. Set it up and it sends customers to your Google review page for as long as the plastic lasts, without paying us anything else. A subscription adds your page and dashboard: Dashboard from $9.99 a month, or Dashboard with Smart Assist from $19.99 for AI reply drafts and suggestions. Your first 30 days include everything, so you can see what it does before deciding.
My phone did nothing when I tapped.
Try the top third of the back of the phone, and take the card out of any wallet or case first. If it still does nothing, use the QR code — it goes to exactly the same place. A card that will not read at all is a faulty card and we will replace it.
I cannot find my business on Google.
Then it may not have a Google Business Profile yet, which is free to create and worth doing regardless. Send us your business name and address and we will tell you what is there.
I bought several cards. Do I repeat all this?
Only the first time. After that, tapping a new card recognises your account and asks two things: which location it belongs to, and what you want to call it. Fifteen seconds.
Can I change where a card points later?
Yes, any time, from the dashboard, on either plan. Move premises, rebrand, move a tent from the patio to the bar — the card keeps working and nothing needs reprinting. That is the point of it.
Someone already claimed my card.
That should not happen — the setup code protects against it. Email us the card ID — the eight characters before the dash on the back of the card — and we will unbind it and get it back to you.
Still stuck?
Email support@tapforreviews.com and a person answers, usually the same day. Tell us the card ID — the eight characters before the dash on the back — and we can see exactly what your card is doing.
